The print includes small scenes from the life of Christ: the Adoration of the Magi, the Baptism in the Jordan, the Wedding at Cana, the Temptation in the Desert, the Transfiguration, the Crucifixion, the Harrowing of Hell, the Resurrection and the Last Judgment. Decorative borders of rose branches and grape vines link them together in a cruciform shape, suggesting the cover of a medieval evangelary. The monogram ICXC NIKA, written in large red letters, abbreviates the Greek phrase Ihcoyc Xpictoc nika, or Jesus Christ conquers.
It is based on two of my ink drawings, with the colors modified. The print is about one and a half times larger than the original drawings.
