The Rotarian:
The most imposing clock in the [former Rockford Time Museum] is the great masterpiece made by the German Christian Gebhard and his two sons between 1865 and 1895. The Gebhard clock was made to illustrate basic astronomy as well as the amuse the audience with some performance every 15 minutes. The main performance occurs at noon, when the old man strikes the quarter hours, a skeleton strikes the hours, the angel turns the hour glass, and the apostles revolve as the cock crows and Judas turns his back on Christ.
