ST. ROBERT of NEWMINSTER
PRINT by DANIEL MITSUI

ST. ROBERT of NEWMINSTER

This depicts St. Robert of Newminster, a 12th-century Cistercian abbot. He was renowned for his fleshly mortification and his power over malevolent spirits. The four shields represent the Abbey of Newminster and three other monasteries founded by the saint; the dates of their foundations I wrote in Cistercian numerals.

The print is based on my ink drawings. It is about one and a half times larger than the originals.

Dimensions: 6" × 8"
