I create my own typefaces. It is important to me that everything published by Millefleur Press, including text, be designed by my own hand. The letterforms I first draw on paper. Scans of these I edit in Photoshop Elements; I use Type 3.2 to create the computer fonts.
In my typographic art, as in my religious art, I want to make things that are both original and vigorously medieval. I usually follow late medieval conventions for layout, spelling and punctuation in my typography. I make generous use of versals, all of them taken from my own ink drawings.
