I create my own typefaces. These I use for the broadsides and books published by Millefleur Press. It is important to me that everything printed on their pages, including text, be designed by my own hand. The letterforms I first draw on paper; some of the original drawings used to create my typefaces are available for sale. Scans of these I edit in Photoshop Elements; I use Type 3.2 to create the computer fonts.
In my typographic art, as in my religious art, I want to make things that are both original and vigorously medieval. I usually follow late medieval conventions for layout, spelling and punctuation in my typography. I make generous use of versals, all of them taken from my own ink drawings.
