DRAWING by DANIEL MITSUI
This is an ink drawing on a 4" × 5 1/3" piece of Bristol board. I drew it on private commission, using technical pens. It depicts St. Lucy, a virgin martyr of the early fourth century. She was miraculously preserved from harm when her persecutors attempted to burn her alive, but she died when stabbed through the throat. The outer border I filled with various sea creatures.
I modified the colors when creating the print file (which is shown on this page); those on the original drawing are different.
An open-edition giclée print of this drawing is available for $20. You may use the button below to pay via PayPal, debit card or credit card. Be sure to confirm the shipping address.
